Construction of Luna Park Sydney’s brand-new ride replacement program is well underway and sees the 8 new permanent rides take to the park for the July School holidays and the return of the Big Dipper in December 2021.

To celebrate the re-opening of Luna Park Sydney, we are giving away 2 x Family Passes (worth $280 each) as well as some food and beverage vouchers.

Luna Park is the home of Sydney fun with rides and amusements for all ages, from classic carnival games, all-time favourites and new thrilling experiences. Ride the Dodgems, dare to experience the Hair Raiser drop tower or visit the classic slides in Coney Island. Luna Park is the perfect destination for family fun.

The new Luna Park Rides include:

Little Nipper:

What is sure to be a future family-favourite, Little Nipper was the first of the nine new permanent rides joining the Luna Park family. One the whole family will love, the vibrant blue Little Nipper rollercoaster offers a side-seat for little ones, enough oomph to give kids a thrill, while leaving parent’s stomachs intact and has found its new home nestled in the north-east corner of the Park.

Cloud Nine:

Cloud Nine takes you into the sky and back again, and again, and again. Kiddies and parents fit into our bright hot air balloons, and you’ll follow the flashing lights all the way up into the air!

Freaky Frogs:

Jump on and leap around with our newest residents, Freaky Frogs! Jump on board your green machine and they’ll take you round and round. To be enjoyed by everyone, including our littlest Park attendees.

The Bug:

The Bug is a mini ferris wheel for mini people. Standing 7 metres tall, kiddies will feel on top of the world on this ride. Don’t worry, Mum or Dad can join in too!

Sydney, sea, sky, and SCREAMS all mesh into one as you swing and spin, at the same time, 360°!!! Once you’re locked and loaded, the hammer drops and whacks you with its full fury, back and forth, spun round and round, delivering G-forces that you didn’t even know existed. It packs a punch!

The Boomerang is a family rollercoaster that keeps you coming back for more! It drops, twists, turns, and then does it all again – backwards! This is Australia’s first G-force G-rated coaster that has space not just for kids, but the whole family. So you can all scream together!

The New Big Dipper (launching in December ’21):

The Big Dipper returns, but not as you know it. It’s bigger, dippier, faster, higher and 360° loopier. It’s the world’s first inline seating launch rollercoaster, and Australia’s tallest and fastest multi-launch coaster. Big kids only.

  • the boomerang because boomerang is cool and looks fun and stuff

  • CLOUD 9 sounds superb! What a beautiful family ride floating to the sky in a hot air balloon looking over the beautiful Sydney harbor…cant wait.

  • Definitely the new big dipper. I was a very loyal customer at Luna Park before it closed and so excited to see it reopen.

  • My 3 youngest are now grown and can finally reach the ‘big person height;. I am excited to take them back to Luna Park and have an awesome day out.

  • I am most excited to try the Little Nipper roller-coaster! My son is 3 and has started becoming brave enough to try roller-coasters and rides. It would be so amazing to go on it with him!

  • Cloud Nine as it sounds like a ride the whole family would love and we can do together.

  • I love the feelings of a rollercoaster ride. The exhilaration, the excitement in every cell of my body. The wind rushing through my hair. Can’t wait to see a little one in a side-seat sharing this joy. Little Nipper at Luna Park Sydney looks like a winner.

  • Freaky Frogs for my frog obsessed boys!

  • Id love for my little nippers to try out the little nipper. So great that even the little ones can have a go on a roller coaster :)

  • Freaky Frogs looks like a great exciting ride. Can’t wait to try them all!

  • I like the classics the merry go round then the wild mouse. I want to try them all as Luna park is so much fun

  • The new bigger dipper looks amazing! I can still remember rattling around on the old Big Dipper as a kid in the 1970’s so sharing this experience with my kids over 40 years later would be fantastic – this time the ride will be sleeker and smoother but our screams will be as loud and the exhilaration will be remembered for the next generation.

  • All of them!! I’ve never been to Luna Park. Mostly the Boomerang ad it sounds awesome!

  • cloud nine, because I want my head up in the clouds!

  • Cloud Nine. Firstly, great name – who doesn’t like to be on Cloud Nine? The idea of sitting in hot air balloons is whimsical and exciting, and it seems like my children’s favourite request of “higher, higher!” will be granted!
