Bugs Bunny at the Symphony celebrates 25 years in special anniversary concert with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra!

Join the world’s most recognisable rabbit in a 25th Anniversary celebration of Bugs Bunny at the Symphony II performed live at the Sydney Opera House by the Sydney Symphony Orchestra on the Wednesday 13 & Thursday 14 July.

Conducted by Emmy Award™ winner George Daugherty, and created and produced by Daugherty and Emmy Award™ winning producer David Ka Lik Wong, Bugs Bunny at the Symphony II is a spectacular fusion of classical music and timeless Warner Bros. Looney Tunes animations.

Classic Bugs Bunny cartoons − including two brand-new 3D Loony Tunes ̶ will be projected on-screen in the Concert Hall backing the SSO as they perform the original Carl Stalling scores including Chuck Jones’ inspired What’s Opera, Doc?, Friz Freleng’s Rhapsody Rabbit, and the virtuoso orchestral roller coaster ride, Zoom and Bored. Bugs will be joined on-screen by his popular cohorts, including Elmer Fudd, Daffy Duck, Tweety, Wile E. Coyote and Road Runner.

New to the concert are special guest appearances by Tom and Jerry in the Hollywood Bowl; two of the funniest Daffy Duck epics ever made – Show Biz Bugs and Robin Hood Daffy; the Australian premiere of the iconic Long-Haired Hare; and a trio of love songs by the world’s most scent-challenged crooner, Pepe Le Pew.

The SSO concerts are some of the major highpoints of the Bugs Bunny at the Symphony 25th Anniversary Tour, which also includes concerts with the New York Philharmonic at the Lincoln Center, the Los Angeles Philharmonic at the Hollywood Bowl and 27 other major American and international orchestras.

The Bugs Bunny at the Symphony concert project has enjoyed a very special relationship with the SSO, the Sydney Opera House and Sydney audiences, having made its international concert premiere as Bugs Bunny on Broadway at the Sydney Opera House. This premiere has been followed by numerous return engagements including the SSO’s world premiere performance of Bugs Bunny at the Symphony in 2010 with conductor George Daugherty at the Sydney Opera House.

  2. T. Velez - NSW
  • Tweety has always been my favourite, I had tweety seat covers and tweety and sylvester painted under the bonnet of my first car. This obsession has passed down to my daughter who has a pet bird named tweety along with a room full of “tweet things”

  • Foghorn Leghorn and his witty sayings are the best,
Strutting round the farm, puffing his chest!
Seeing Bugs Bunny at the Symphony II would makes us feel blessed, and
As Foghorn would say, would keep the kids” as busy as a centipede in a toe countin contest!”
