The cooking kit aims to give parents and kids the inspiration and wherewithal to learn core cookery skills and healthy cooking at home, through creative culinary fun in the kitchen!

Suitable for boys and girls from 5-13, the monthly cooking kit starts from $26.95 and contains:

  • A monthly skills badge to display on their Get Kids Cooking apron

  • Or kids can enjoy our party packs – have a Mexican fiesta party or pizza party where guests have just as much fun making the food as they do eating it.
  • For a low-cost activity during the school holidays any number of kids can do without leaving home, our one-off cooking kits are a terrific way to enjoy some fun activity time with parents, siblings and friends no matter what the weather is outside.

Get Kids Cooking is an Australian enterprise run by foodie mums Joanne Bowskill and Holly Boal. They believe that given the right experiences, children will adore cooking.

“For many Australians, cooking is a real pleasure and a genuine lifestyle interest as well as a necessary and useful life skill”, says Bowskill. “Once kids get into cooking, they really love it. It’s wonderful seeing how being involved in the preparation of a meal can stimulate a child’s appetite to try new things”.

“As well as being fun, fostering a love of cooking in young kids can lead to many social and health benefits, including increasing their attention levels at school and teaching them the nutritional value of fresh fruit and vegetables. Being involved in the preparation of a meal is a great way for kids to express themselves, and over time gain confidence so they can start to develop healthy eating habits that they carry with them throughout life”, she said.
