When Bridget Crack arrives in the colony, she is just grateful to be on dry land. Too late, she realises the place she has ended up is the worst of all: the ‘Interior,’ where the hard cases are sent-a brutally hard life with a cruel master, miles from civilisation.

She runs from there and finds herself imprisoned by the impenetrable Tasmanian wilderness. What she finds there-what finds her-is Matt Sheedy, a man on the run, who saves her from certain death. Her precarious existence among volatile and murderous bushrangers is a different kind of hell and, surrounded by roaring rivers and towering columns of rock, hunted by soldiers and at the mercy of killers, Bridget finds herself in an impossible situation. In the face of terrible darkness, what will she have to do to survive?

  • Tasmania, I love the wilderness, the beautiful landscapes and the magnificent waterfalls, a perfect place to escape to.

  • I would escape to The Kimberley region because of the vastness of the land. One can be truly free with nothing but time to get to know oneself.

  • I love watching them and have only been fortunate enough to visit a few smaller ones so far

  • Eyre Peninsula SA because it is like stepping back in time to the way Australia used to be – the locals are friendly the landscape magic and the fishing fantastic could not ask for me the simple life for me

  • Bunya Mountains QLD as they’re as magical and mystical as they sound – bunnies, wallabies and parrots roam around this Alpine-like oasis!

  • Wallaman Falls in Queensland, The sound of running water crashing down into a stream has such a relaxing feel. I love watching them and have only been fortunate enough to visit a few smaller ones so far

  • The blue mountains. It is a place of sheer beauty that shows Australia at its breathtaking best. It is secluded yet draws many visitors and would be the perfect place to escape too.

  • In Australia I would love to go where the horizon is endless and escape to the Outback! I dream of fresh air and sleeping in a swag where the sky twinkles in the black. Ultimately I would get to experience mustering cattle while on horseback!

  • Darwin, that awesome weather would be perfect for my osteoarthritis

  • I’d go to Margaret River and drown my sorrows in their lovely wine and food.

  • I would escape to sunny Queensland cause that’s where my sister lives and i like the the night life and the beaches, you don’t get that here in bendigo.????
