After disgracing themselves at a high society New Year’s Eve party in Philadelphia in 1944, Madeline Hyde and her husband, Ellis, are cut off financially by his father, a former army colonel who is already ashamed of his son’s inability to serve in the war.   • I really enjoyed Water For Elephants so I should imagine that this Book would be equally as good.

  • This sounds like a book that I wouldn’t be able to put down. One that keeps you engrossed from the very first page. Set in an era of difficult times that brings out both the best and worst of human nature. Can’t wait to read it!
