If your child has ever thought about trying out gymnastics, here is your chance! Make sure you’re in the running for a voucher from BK’s Gymnastics.

Gymnastics has overtaken football in its popularity as an after-school sport, and it’s easy to see why.

BK’s Gymnastics has locations in VIC, NSW and QLD with an exciting set of new programs on offer in 2023 for children of all ages and abilities. These new programs include Little Stars for kids as young as three months, Super Stars for special needs kids and Ninja Stars, combining gymnastics with parkour and obstacle work. Kids can go all the way through to their teenage years in the non-competitive program, or switch to the All Star Academy should they wish to compete. Either way, there is a clear pathway to follow that gives kids a great sense of achievement.

Gymnastics allows boys and girls to develop many skills, not just physical. Gymnastics provides children with an experience and love for movement, core strength, body awareness, coordination, timing and balance skills, just to name a few – these physical skills are key no matter what other sports and activities they participate in and puts them in good stead to be strong and active adults. It also helps children to develop their self-confidence, their risk assessment skills and their listening abilities.

Ultimately, the skills learned through gymnastics set a great foundation for kids as they grow and continue to participate in physical activity. It also teaches kids that moving your body is fun and rewarding. Some of Australia’s top athletes started out in gymnastics classes as children including Olympic swimmer Emily Seebom, hurdler Sally Pearson and former Roosters captain Anthony Minichiello.

So if you’d like to mix-up your after school activities this year, give gymnastics a try!

  • My daughter is always doing summersalt and jumping onthe trampolie. I’d love to win this if it is near my (gold coast)

  • I would love to give gymnastics a try because my 5 year old has tried a number of sports but it yet to find the perfect one for her and she is very flexible so I think she will enjoy gymnastics

  • My three year old loves her dancing but she would be so great at gymnastics especially with her endless energy. We have a BK 5 minutes away and always wanted to give it a go

  • He is forever rolling and tumbling and trying to do handstands, would love for him to be able to do it properly with the help of a coach

  • My children have lots of energy and are always jumping and tumbling. With their additional needs it can be hard to find activities that they enjoy and can participate in and I hope that trying gymnastics can help them physically, socially and emotionally and to regulate and find a passion.

  • My 2 darling energetic GD would love to give gymnastics a go, they would be at it all day if they could

  • My son has done some gymnastics at school and said he enjoyed it but was hesitant to join a class outside of school. This might be the incentive he needs!

  • She’s a natural born monkey, forever climbing anything and everything. It would be a shame to waste that potential!

  • With their thrive for life and running about, I think my little ones would benefit in some educational bounce and fun.

  • I’d love to give my child more confidence in this area especially with balancing and mindful foot-work, as although he is amazing, active and talented in so many areas, can be clumsy at times (i.e. thanks to his mumma, it’s hereditary I’m sure!) and gymnastics sounds like a fun solution.

  • Exercise for health

  • My 7 year old has been nagging me for gymnastic classes but I haven’t had time yet. She is always trying to do the splits and being very active on our couches, jumping and being a kid.

  • the kids love making balance courses with planks and old tyres in the backyard, this would be the perfect next step

  • Because she is so active, and I cant find anything that tires her out!

  • Our Miss 5 would love to do ‘real gymnastics’ as she’s forever making obstacle courses out of the furniture and she moves around the house by doing cartwheels ????
