Winners for this competition

  • Taking my son on his first big adventure, to meet his grandparents for the first time on Christmas day, a very memorable day, filled with tears laughter and lot and lots of hugs and kisses

  • When everyone was safely in the car, children holding presents for Grandparents and Mum holding the food and all during the trip to the Grandparents where all the Uncles, Aunts & cousins would be, the children were talking and laughing with excitement – that’s what makes our Christmas

  • I have three younger siblings and one we had to drive for 2 hours between towns. My younger brother couldn’t talk (3yrs) and my mum played an old christmas carol tape over and over. By the end of the trip not only could he talk, he could SING!!

  • The unexpected, don’t know where we are going til we get there

  • After the excitement of unwrapping presents, we headed along the Great Ocean Road Victoria to our “mystery” holiday destination. My usual bout of travel sickness was more than compensated for by the scenic views. Arriving at Apollo Bay, we were left speechless. No tents; instead the luxury of a caravan.

  • I was 12 almost 13 when I gt my first mobile phone. (No touch screen 15 years ago) My mum also got a mobile phone and we were driving to Potsville. We holidayed there every year. Anyway mum and I spent the whole drive texting and calling each other! It drove my dad NUTS!! He couldn’t understand why we would do that when we were in the same car. lol I will never forget it :)

  • The one that is full of my family arriving for Christmas Lunch, hearing the laughter and chatter before I hear the knock on the door. Racing to the front door and seeing the smiles, getting the hugs and kisses…..is there any better time than Christmas?!

  • My favourite Christmas car ride was this year. Driving around with my 4 kids singing Christmas carols looking at the houses with lights. My 15 month old twins had a huge smile and were reaching out trying to touch all the lights. They were amazed by them

  • Many years ago my Mum, Dad and I drove many hours to visit grandparents – we listened to Perry Como and Frank Sinatra singing Christmas songs and we all sang along. Santa Claus drove past us and waved to us all, I was so excited and loved our Christmas adventure

  • Four generations in the car all singing ‘Twinkle Twinkle Little Star’ to keep the youngest member of the family happy. A special moment never to be forgotten.

  • Going to my grandparents place and knowing the yummy goodies that awaits when I arrive

  • Singing Christmas carols with kids while driving from our place to grandma’s place

  • When the kids say “when are we going to get there”, I know that we are on a trip of adventure, it’s the time I love the most, camping at 1770 in Qld on the estuary, private and secluded with fire and marshmallows on the beach, it’s a car ride that ends in the most wonderful destination for our family and the views out to sea from our tent

  • Driving from Victoria to Gympie far North QLD to have Christmas with my grandmother, my brother and sisters in the car all fought, teased and annoyed each other but I look back now and this that was the best Christmas ever.

  • Travelling to Hervey Bay from Brisbane for our holiday at Fraser Island we stopped at quaint town of Maryborough and discovered amazing museum called the General Store, chatted with elderly locals and best coffee we\’ve ever had!

  • Our xmas morning trip from brisbane to rainbow beach. Arriving on the beaches coloured sands at sunrise was such an awe inspiring moment for us and the four kids. We always hear “I can’t wait to go back to rainbow beach” makes 3-4 hours driving worth every minute.

  • We decided at the last minute to pack up and head north with the kids to Steve Irwin’s Australia Zoo. We had a great adventure along the way, taking our time, stopping wherever and whenever we wanted. Fabulous trip – great adventure!

  • Driving to my mums best friends house for lunch as she puts on the most absolutely, most wonderful, most spectacular, most scrumptious Christmas lunch anyone could ask for. I also used to play with my good friends that only see annually.

  • Looking at all the Christmas lights picking our favorite one while drinking hot chocolates

  • Driving up to Hill End hoping to find gold! Joking! No shops were open, there was no one in sight but lots of kangaroos.
