Welcoming a newborn home is the start of a new chapter in your life. It’s the birth of yourself as a parent (even if it’s not your first) and navigating this new human and their needs is both beautiful and overwhelming. If you delivered your baby, you are recovering from birth as well as moving though immense physical and emotional changes. If your baby grew in your heart, not under it, then you are experiencing immense life changes as well, and may be going through a whole gamut of new emotions, thoughts, and feelings.

As a Registered and paediatric certified nurse, with over 35 years’ experience, Leanne will provide you support as you gain confidence in your unique parenting style.  Let her help lighten the load through your journey with your new baby.

During your 60–90-minute session (which can be in-home or virtual, depending on your location), Leanne will focus on:

• Effective feeding – Whether it be breast and/or bottle; breastmilk and/or formula
• Sleep – What is appropriate during the newborn period, soothing routines, and how to lay a healthy sleep foundation for a smooth transition after the fourth trimester
• Fussiness and colic – Causes and what you can do to calm your baby
• Development – What you can expect with your newborn
• Newborn care – Education on cord care, bathing, safe sleep, and swaddling
• Postpartum care for you – What to expect from your body postpartum, thoughts and feelings you might be experiencing, and when to ask for help.

You will also have the opportunity to ask questions to address any concerns you may be having.
