  • It was horrible! My brother was ‘backing up’ my phone and hit the ‘backup from last time’ button. I lost my photos of when I got engaged and all my congratulations messages. I was devastated. I like to have backups of backups from now on so I really need Acronis!

  • I was using my hard drive, but when I plugged it in again, all of my assignments. I\’m doing year 12, so this was a pretty major problem. I need a safe, secure, reliable way to back up my data so I can\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\’t lose it again.

  • I thought i was being responsible by backing up all my photos on a portable hard drive, unbeknown to me thinking my photos were safe the hard drive itself stopped working. The only way to get back all my photos is by sending it away to a data recovery specialist.

  • Earlier this year, our computer crashed and we lost everything including photos of our son when he was younger (he’s 4 now). Luckily we were able to retrieve some from Facebook, but it’s not quite the same. I don’t want that to happen with our daughter too

  • I have three sons, which means their life time worth of photos and memorabilia that I saved onto my laptop, then their father got angry and broke my laptop. After a lot I managed to get these, however it was heartbreaking to go through this and I never want to lose any of it again.

  • Allowing my teen to use my laptop for her “assignment”, somewhere in her research my hard drive became corrupted and I lost 12 months of photos which were precious memories. Understandably, I was devastated and she no longer uses my laptop but a family desktop.

  • I was having trouble with my phone and in exasperation threw it on the counter exclaiming “it’s toast!!!” Miss Two took me literally and when my back was turned put said phone in the toaster and turned it on. Both the phone and toaster were toast!!

  • i worked on a business plan for weeks until one day poof it was lost…. horrible horrible feeling.

  • when we were married back in 2002 (before digital) I got photos printed off and my brother stole them all with the negatives. to give to my mother that I do not speak to. we now have nothing to show off our day! :-(

  • When studying I religiously backed everything up just in case. One day I left the computer room for a minute and came back to find everything gone, my final year project data, backups of it, simply everything, what do you think my project supervisor said, you should have backed up!

  • I had the same computer for 6yrs and it had all of kids baby photos and it just died

  • This would be very handy! I recently lost everything on my laptop and still have nightmares about it!

  • I’ve lost photos on a hard drive that wasn’t backed up. I’d like to win the fitbit so that I can track my activity/sleep and improve my health. Photos you can live without; health, well, you can’t!

  • my son lost the lyrics to three complete CDs that he had composed and had to redo them all from scratch.. its a heartbreaking experience
