Enjoy gardening in the spring

Spring is the perfect time to give some tender loving care to your garden. There are many good early spring gardening tips to help you have the garden of your dreams.

You can bring your entire family in on the fun and teach them about spring plants and flowers while spending quality time together. To get started, just pick out your favourite plants and flowers and prepare to create something beautiful.

Before you begin, take a good look around your yard, imagine what you want your space to look like.

There are many backyard garden ideas that you can enjoy using. You may want to add a bird bath or even a small waterfall to your backyard landscape that blends in with your flower garden. You can incorporate a unique statue and all sorts of other fun ideas into your garden scene.

Bit too cold and wet at the moment to do anything. Can’t even mow the lawn as the ground is so wet. Once spring does finally hit I’m going to get some new plants to put on my new front deck.

I must admit, I love people’s spring gardens, just not my own. I’m not a gardener. I love creating a to-do list for hubby to do, and to be involved in the selection process, etc. I’m just not a gardener. I don’t think to water. It’s just another thing on the list of things to do. We have a low-maintenance garden that hubby is good with, but anything I come in contact with dies. I do love the smell of freshly mown lawns in spring though.

Spring just finished a few months ago, but we did enjoy planting basil, rosemary, mint and sage! Next spring I plan to plant some new marjoram.

If you plsnted vegies in Autumn you usually feel a sense of achievement when you pick them in Spring. In Spring the soil starts to warm up and the weather does the same. You can plant vegies you want to harvest during Summer – possibly in time for Christmas. Some are best if you use seeds, others you are better off to buy seedlings. Follow the instructions when plantying them for best results.
