If your New Year’s resolution was to travel more, or step out of your comfort zone, there’s a ‘Bucket List’ of activity waiting for you this year.

Whether you are creating your list for the first time or just want to add to the one you already have, here are some highly recommended activities from around the world:

1. Gamble in Las Vegas
Las Vegas should be high up on your bucket list, and you can’t go to Las Vegas without experiencing the fast and furious pace of its casinos. From the lavish Roman Empire at Caesar’s Palace, to the spectacular fountains of the Bellagio, and the world class entertainment at the MGM Grand, the list is endless. A gamble in one of these top casino resorts is a must- for more try here. The excitement of Las Vegas’ casino floor is definitely one to add to your bucket list.

2. Take an African Safari
If you seek a different type of travel experience this year, an African safari could be the ultimate adventure. A safari holiday gives you the chance to see wildlife in its natural habitat, witness breath taking landscapes and take part in some truly memorable activities including Gorilla trekking and Elephant back riding. There are many great destinations to choose from including the Masai Mara in Kenya, the Serengeti in Tanzania, the Okavango Delta in Botswana and the Kruger National Park in South Africa – take your pick.

3. Run the New York Marathon
Why not train for the one of the largest marathons in the world, the New York Marathon. The 26mile course begins south of Staten Island then goes into Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan and the Bronx before making its way back to finish in Manhattan’s Central Park. This is also a great way to see the Big Apple if you’ve never been before. Conquering a marathon is a huge achievement in itself but conquering New York’s marathon is surely one to feel good about when ticking off your bucket list.

4. Bungee Jump and Skydive in New Zealand
If you’ve always wanted to bungee jump or skydive save it for the skies of New Zealand. With some of the world’s most stunning scenery, this is without a doubt one of the best places to take up these exciting activities. Queenstown, home of adventure in New Zealand, is home to the famous Kawarau Bridge Bungee, one of the most famous bungee jumps in existence. South of Franz Josef you’ll find Fox Glacier, the perfect place to skydive. This was voted the 2nd most scenic skydive in the world after Mount Everest.

5. Swim with Dolphins
Swimming with dolphins is up there on everyone’s bucket list. Come nose to bottlenose with these charming and intelligent creatures and hold on for one of the most memorable swimming experiences you’ll ever have. This really is an incredible experience for all ages and one that you’ll remember forever. The most unique opportunities to swim with dolphins are available in warm-weather destinations such as Discovery Cove in Florida and Cancun in Mexico.

  • Already done number 5, my mum bought me a ticket to swim with the dolphins for my 21st birthday, best present ever. Would do number 2 but not interested in anything else. I however want to travel to the Shetland Isles to see where my family originated from.

  • Oh to be able to afford to do all the listed activities. I have however swum with a pod of about 400 wild dolphins At Kaikoura in New Zealand. It was a truly amazing experience. These creatures are so majestic as they rush past you in the water. Always just out of arms reach.
