The adaptor of a popular baby swing sold at Target nationwide is being recalled due to concerns it poses a risk of electric shock.

The Fisher Price Dots and Spots Deluxe Swing model (SKU GVF83) was sold at Target stores and online at Catch between 1 January 2021 and 4 September 2021.

Product Recall Australia revealed the swing was supplied with an overseas plug-in adaptor which is not designed for use in Australia. If it’s used with an incompatible power source, there is an increased risk of electric shock, which can cause serious injury or death.

Consumers are being warned to immediately stop using the overseas plug-in adaptor. Affected consumers are being contacted directly.

Mattel is providing consumers with an Australian approved plug-in adaptor to replace the overseas plug-in adaptor, and will arrange for the return of the non-compliant overseas plug-in adaptor at Mattel’s cost.

  • I’ve noticed a lot of things from TARGET are getting recalled… no wonder so many of the stores got closed down!

  • Hopefully the overseas plug doesn’t fit into our sockets in Australia.

  • Let’s hope enough people see this recall. Surely with rewards cards etc these days the companies should be sending notification out to the consumers.

  • I can’t believe it’s taken so long for it to be recalled but even more unbelievable is that they were allowed in Australia without an Australian plug-in adaptor. Hope no-one was hurt when using this product
