The only time I have tablecloths on the table is at Christmas time.

I’m not big on table cloths or table runners either for the exact same reason. But this is a quick and simple way to give a table the WOW factor

I once wanted to cover the middle of my table because of putting containers of vey hot food on it. It was literally a last minute decision. Fortunately I had a long table cloth – but not as long as the table I was using that day. I folded it in 4 lengthways folding the hems inwards and used it as a runner.
It prevented the table getting scorch marks

I’m not a crafty person but I think even I could do this. I love a runner rather than a tablecloth and have found it increasingly hard to find one that suits my house and table. This could be the answer.

Yes! Kids make tablecloths so very messy. This is a great idea. I sometimes use colourful scarves too.
