You definitely crossed a line here. 12 yo or not, its not your child and you dont get to choose or do it without parental consent . The odea of empowering kids is being pushed a bit too much these days. I would be furious if someone did this to my boy.

Not your child, not your decision. I agree he should be able to choose what he does with his own hair but it’s dangerous territory when you interfere with parenting responsibilities

I’d be so angry if someone did that to my kids without asking me first. I agree at 12 years old they’re old enough to make their own decision but you should have shown respect and spoken with the parent first. Not cool.

I would be disappointed that they didn’t ask first.

She should have spoken to the boys parents. or gotten him to speak to them, before she did anything. They probably let him choose his hairstyle but at the hairdressers. She definitely did the wrong thing. How would she have felt if someone did that to her son without her knowing?

I do let my kids choose their haircuts at 12…. but I would not take it upon myself to do it to anothers kid without the parents OK. It’s just a respect thing. What I’m fine with others may not be.

A 12 year old is still a child. 100% the parents should have been checked with first. Insignificant to some but major to others – people need to respect that.

I would have asked, even though a 12 year old can do there own hair it is best to always ask first.

Ooh no, that was so wrong. You have to check with the parents. Not all 12 year olds are the same and you had no right to do that.

I wouldn’t have cut hair without double checking with parents.
