When is Black Friday 2025?

This year Black Friday is Friday, 28th November, 2025.

What is Black Friday?

Black Friday is a huge retail event across the globe, and it marks the start of the Christmas retail period. It actually originated in the US, as a sale that followed Thanksgiving.

So, why is it called Black Friday? It’s thought that the name came from the large numbers of people who flock to the shops for the sales and cause huge disruptions. Others believe it’s because it marks when retailers in the US begin to head from the red into the black and turn a profit.

While it started in America, Australian have embraced Black Friday in recent years – and we’re not at at all mad about it!

Is anyone else just as excited for these buys?!

What Kmart Black Friday bargains do you have your eye on?

  • In the sales this year broadly, I just didn’t find very much to get excited about. Admittedly I wasn’t looking for very much, but even so there just wasn’t much to tempt me. I would have loved some good discounts on smaller things like books. The toys didn’t engage me much – my kids have outgrown th ones for little kids.

  • This year has been a good one for Black Friday sales and deals and some of these Black Friday sales and deals have been so good for buying and having as stocking stuffers. K Mart is always a good place for buying stocking stuffers that are affordable and that people enjoy receiving.

  • So many things on sale. The auto litter box for cats looks interesting. Good to see Lego sets on sale as well as it can be quite pricey. Lots of Bluey ideas as well. I think Christmas will be sorted with this sale. Thanks for setting it out so well for everyone.

  • I quite like the Black Friday sales and yes there’s always fake sales, but there’s also amazing bargains. It being a global sale provides more opportunities and I’ve noticed it has essentially replaced the Boxing Day sales. I prefer the sales being at this time of year, makes Christmas more affordable and I’ve got nothing left, money or energy, come Boxing Day!

  • Hmmm… am I the only one here who is realising that black Friday deals really are not all that they are cracked up to be? Most of the so called ‘sales’ are not really much cheaper than regular prices. It is all just a gimmick to make people spend more money.

  • There are a few things I need so Black Friday is the perfect time to find a bargain. I’m also tempted by the pizza oven in this article.

  • I have been getting so confused all of November as to when Black Friday actually is! It just seems to start earlier each year that it all seems like a big November sale across all retailers. Kmart does have some pretty amazing options for gifts this year – i can see it being popular!

  • S many great things on special but I really Do not need to be tempted into spending on random things lol. The Pink Swag is lovely and the Large Pizza Oven is a great price. That would make a nice gift if it works well. The Auto Kitty Litter box would worry me, what if they got locked in lol.

  • These are some great deals for sure ! I love the inflatable water slide. I had one in the past of similar prize but not from Kmart, but it didn’t last that long and then you have to consider the prize. The robot vacuum is also an attempting buy for me, but I’ll have to keep my hand on the wallet as we have enough expenses with our trip to Europe in 3 weeks

  • Oooh! The digital calendar is something I’m very interested in, but that’s still quite expensive. A lot better than the name brands though. Oooh. so tempted. I’m actually hoping for some good book sales this Black Friday – I usually only buy things I actually need at this time of year, and I have a list of books…

  • I have actually lost track of when black Friday is as sales seem to be all year round these days and the black Friday sales have already started and I don’t think it is for another week yet. i find that not everything I want to buy is on sale so i try and look around at all the sales throughout the year to ensure that I am getting the best deals when i see things.

  • It seems that Black Friday sales are getting earlier and earlier every year. I have already bought $200 worth of skincare from a website with a massive pre-Black Friday sale. That was last week. I love Kmart! I can’t wait to shop til I drop and score some amazing bargains. I’m eyeing off the Dreame Cordless Vacuum.

  • I have been receiving lots of Black Friday sales offers and have even purchased some items on sale and thankfully we have saved money. This seems to be a good time of the year to look at sales and find items if they are needed. We do only buy what we need.

  • I missed out on these deals but there were some amazing ones!

  • So sad that I missed out on the De’Longhi Espresso Machine! For $99 what an absolute bargain and it looks so sleek and expensive. I tend to stick to online shopping for sales and the crowds in mt area get insane and parking becomes a practice of patient and conflict resolution!

  • I have never bothered with any of these Sale Days as the prices never seem to come down that much from the normal K-mart prices and I am not in need of anything either – really need to declutter my house, not buy more stuff to put in it. Thanks for showing us the list, but no thanks!

  • There are some interesting products there. I would be more interested in branded products though because I do not trust the Kmart Anko brand at all. I have been stung too many times. I like the idea of the air fryer, however, it would take up way too much bench space and it doesn’t say a brand, so probably Anko…

  • I had no idea kmart sold half those items. I really like the wavy mirror for my middle daughter. I’ve already done all my Christmas shopping as I hate lea ing it until last minute when the shops are crazy but then the black Friday sales happen and I almost wish I hadn’t

    • I was at the shops to do something unrelated to Christmas and was stunned by the amount of people shopping for Christmas. It was very hard to find a car park and I was in and out of the shops as quick as I could be. I will try and find a quieter time to go to the shops and look for some of these items.

  • I am not currently looking out for any of the sales but the dog bed does indeed look very good. It might be worth further investigation. We have similar ones for our pets and this price is somewhat better than the cost of the current ones in our household that will need replacing.

  • That’s quite a variety of things! I don’t really need any, but I’m sort of eyeing off the nutribullet anyway…
