It’s barely landed on shelves, yet Kmart’s newest kitchen appliance has sparked a shopping frenzy. The new Kmart Slushie Maker is drawing comparisons to the much more expensive Ninja version – and those that have tried it out say it’s a winner.

With warm months upon us, the best slushie machines have Aussies bubbling over. Social media has been especially flooded with shoppers sharing the Kmart Slushie Maker, which retails for $179, compared to the Ninja SLUSHi Professional Frozen Drink Maker, which is around $500.

Cheree Lawrence, from Oh So Busy Mum, snapped one up after discovering it at Kmart, and has put it through its paces, comparing it to her Ninja machine. And Cheree was impressed.

“Honestly… RUN, don’t walk,” she exclaimed. “It’s only $179 and I was super impressed with how it stacked up against the Ninja Slushi Machine. They will sell out fast no doubt!”

Cheree has even stated a Facebook group dedicated to Kmart Slushie Maker Recipes. She says the machine can freeze soft drinks, juices, cocktails, alcohol, milkshakes and can even make soft serve.

Oh So Busy Mum’s Cheree has knocked it out of the park with her review of the Kmart Slushie Maker – she’s done side by side comparisons, a cleaning demo and more – so make sure you check out all of her amazing videos!

At this stage, the Kmart Slushie Maker isn’t online, so your best bet is to head in store to try and secure yours! Oh, and according to Nectoriouspapi, the price is set to increase so if you managed to snap it up at $179, well done!

  • A friend of mine has purchased one for this Christmas “for her kids” .. so she says but i think it was her that really wanted one. haha.
If my kids were little I would probably have been looking at these as well especially herer in queensland where it would get a lot of use

  • This looks reality fun but i agree with one of the comments here that question the utility of this machine and whether it’s worth the investment? Because honestly we dont have slushies everyday here in my home even during summer. So to buy something that takes up significant space and big is a money too is not something i will be happy to do

  • So what I want is for you to repost this article towards the end of summer, and ask people how much they actually used it. Was it a novelty for a few weeks, or a good buy which you used every day? (Okay, maybe not every day, but you get the idea.)

  • This is such a good buy! I haven’t managed to find one in store yet as it’s been so popular and sold out everywhere. But you could buy 2 of these for the price of a ninja and would be a great addition to the menu for summer school holidays!

  • It would be interesting to know how many people do end up finding and buying this machine. I do wonder if it will be on many Christmas wish lists and then used over the Summer holidays. It is probably quite a good machine to use for parties and get together times for a crowd.

  • Wow! Kmart keeps on surprising. I am love this! I’m putting it on my Santa wish list. Hello Summer! And just in time for Christmas school holidays. Kids, go for it! Ice cream. Frappes. Frozen juice. Milkshakes. Frozen mock tails and cocktails. What really impressed me is the ice cream function. I have always wanted to make my own ice cream. Bliss!

  • Super good for this hot weather that is approaching us soon but the price $179 and its a Kmart brand is a bit too much. I personally would not buy one at the price they are asking for.
I am sure you can find something similar at a reasonable price

  • An interesting looking slushie making machine; it appears to have a lot of functions. It will probably bring a lot of joy to many people over the holidays and will probably be a big hit during the warmer months of the year. It is not a machine that for us at this time.

  • Interesting ! Some years ago I would be very interested in this, but at this stage less so. Personally I think $179 is still a significant amount of money, but I guess compare to the Ninja slushi professional frozen drink maker it is certainly a good price. I like stuff from Kmart for sure

  • Definitely interested in this one. Seems very good, very versatile . I hope I can get one. The family will all enjoy this toy 😆. I wonder what the price increase will be. I’ll have to make a spot on the counter for it during the summer months👌 that’s not too bad.

  • I want to buy one of this to my kids. They really want something special to enjoy during their holidays. Not sure ended up sitting in the corner self after a few uses. Most likely I ll use after this article. Let’s do some reviews of the people who have bought this recently

  • Timely article! I’m looking at buying something like this for Christmas… either a yoghurt maker, icecream or slushy… cannot decide what we’ll get most use from. And also, not so keen on the amount of fiddling in and out of the freezer for the Ninja! Hmm, more research to do but good to know Kmart got options!

  • People definitely are loving these. They haven’t landed in WA yet. I was in Kmart yesterday and people were asking about these but they are unsure when they will arrive. I have been watching many TikTok videos on these, they look great for summer and perfect for making a slushy cocktail to enjoy by the pool over the Christmas holiday period.

  • So I’ve actually seen the instagram reels on this and the comparison side by side. I thought it was quite cool! But it’s definitely a nolvelty for me and one i cant see myself really buying that would make it any more cost effective. I wouldnt use it nearly enough for it to be a permanent thing in my home.

  • It has a lot of functions. This is going to be a popular item this summer.

  • I like the idea of it and it would be great for the coming summer months. However this is not for me. I don’t think I would use it often enough to justify the buy. Plus I don’t have the bench space or the pantry space for another kitchen appliance.

  • Well, it’s the right time of year for this sort of thing to go on sale, that’s for sure. It sounds like a great idea, but I do wonder how much we’d use it after the initial excitement. I’ll tell you what snack appliance we use tons: our popcorn maker. Year round, and it cost a lot less.

  • I gotta say, I’m probably going to give this a whirl! I’ve been eyeing off the Ninja slushi and ninja creami for a while now, but this is such a better price for a luxury item that won’t be used super often. I love all these quality dupes Kmart is coming out with now
