I’ve always wanted to learn how to crochet and bought myself some needles last year and still haven’t got around to using them.

Until now. I found an easy to follow video series that teaches beginners how to crochet.

What you’ll need: wool and crochet needles

View the youtube video to learn the basics and get started …

Kristen has many videos teaching many different crochet techniques when you are ready to learn more.

I’m off to give it a go.

  • I didn’t use the YouTube tutorial as I already know how to crochet. I taught myself how to crochet and knit when I was 13-14 years old

  • My mum and Nanna taught me to crochet when I was quite young. I remember when I was about 17 and my 7 year old cousin said to me, “How can you do that? You only have one stick.” I was shocked to realise she could knit and I couldn’t, so I was all the more determined to master that too. For those interested to try, crochet is more than granny squares though. Recently, I made some little stars and love heart motifs to dress up some throw cushions and personalise some clothing. Motifs are very fast and rewarding, and great for using up those little scraps of wool.

    • yeah my grandmother used to make heaps of things. she made doilies too

  • Thank you for sharing the video. I have not crochet for a long time so this is a nice refresher for me. One problem I have with crocheting is tension. I am all over the place with that.
