These blankets are easy to make and make a thoughtful and extra special gift for someone who is having a baby.

What you’ll need:

  • 1 metre fabric x 2 pieces
  • pen
  • scissors
  • ruler
  • pins
  • cotton
  • needle

Step 1. Measure a 91.44cm square on both fabrics.

Step 2. Cut measured squares out

Step 3. Place fabric together and fold edges in 2.5 cm on each side, twice and pin.

Step 4. Hand or machine sew edges.

  • Very, very cute. I love making my own baby wares, picking a fabric design is so much fun. I just need an embroidery machine. To make my own blankets and embroid my baby’s name into it would be excellent.

  • I’ve never made a baby blanket before, I’ve only knitted one. This looks so easy I’m definitely going to make some. They’ll make perfect gifts for new babies and I could also make some to donate to our local hospital for any Mum’s and bubs that may come in.

  • More a wrap then a blanket. It would need something warm between the two pieces of fabric fir it to be a blanket. I like the trimming
