How to create a child with body issues 101

This story horrifies me. What an awful message to be giving to her young daughter. I hope the daughter is smart enough to refuse the procedures. The mum says she already does ok at school and she’s bloody gorgeous already. She doesn’t need surgery

Sorry but she is a bloody moron! What mother would encourage their child to do that? Her daughter looks beautiful. I hope she doesn’t go through with it. Poor child the pressure she would feel.

This is DISGUSTING…This Mum.should be ashamed to when call herself a Mum.

That poor kid. I hope someone saves her.

I have no words to describe what a horrible mother she is

What the hell? That ‘mother’ (if you can call her that) is not fit to be a parent and her daughter is already a pretty girl. I’m sorry but that girl deserves a better mother and role model.

OMG! No words. I think her daughter is beautiful. I’m sorry she has a Mother who can’t see that.

This is just awful. But each to their own I suppose.

WTF?! She isn’t even “ugly” what a disappointment. Mums like this are why I am ever worried to have a daughter one day. God almighty, heaven forbid she raise a pleasant, kind human being who gets places coz she’s a decent person :I

This is going to backfire in years to come, she will end up on drugs if her life is dictated by what others think of her body and not her mind. Terrible to be supporting the “only good looking people get somewhere” attitude, how on earth are we going to have girls grow up to be confident women in their own skin with a parent like this. Please look up Collective shout to see women who are trying to stop the sexualization of girls and women in media, this is pretty much the same thing, it needs to stop for women to be healthy and stress free about their looks.

What a terrible way to behave with your daughter who really is beautiful as she is. An awful message to send to any young lady that all you can do is look pretty – hasn’t this mother heard that beauty is only skin deep and what you are inside is what really matters in life?

  I totally agree with you, this mum’s attitude is most damaging and concerning.

each to their own, but I’m definitely going down the ‘love and nourish the body you have’ road with my daughter. she will be beautiful and loved no matter what.

I hope this isn’t serious this poor girl should not be worried about these things at her age.

This is rather sick, how sad to send this message across to your daughter !! I’m shocked.

Oh wow there’s her self confidence gone. It will become never enough in time

How about teaching your daughter she’s good enough as she is. And looks will only get you so far.. I would be pushing the education and putting that money towards tutors or whatever she needs.
