Tan France, star of Netflix’s Queer Eye, is expecting his first child with husband Rob.
Makeover king Tan France has announced that he is expecting his first child with husband Rob. The 37-year-old star of Netflix’s hit series Queer Eye took to Instagram to share the news.
“So happy to finally share that WE’RE HAVING A BABY!” was the caption on a picture of France cradling his own stomach with an ultrasound shot pasted over the top.
“No I’m not pregnant despite this VERY realistic pic. With the greatest gift/help of the most wonderful surrogate, Rob and I are lucky enough to be on our way to being parents, this Summer. Something we’ve wanted for SOOOOO many years.”
The couple first tied the knot in 2007 in London, and again in NYC when marriage equality was passed, with France making no secret of his desire to have children. In an interview with the Associated Press in 2018, he spoke of the importance of surrogacy in providing an option for gay couples wanting children.
“I feel privileged to be in a position where I get to talk about what I want to do. And if I want to have children, I want to talk about it and nobody can say it’s wrong and get away with it,” he said.
“[Surrogacy is] a legal option that is available to us, and I will use that.”
France’s husband, artist Rob France, also shared a brief announcement to his own Instagram page accompanied by a beautiful illustration of a baby.
“We have a beautiful little angel on the way and I didn’t think it was humanly possible to feel like this,” he wrote.
Congratulations to the couple on this exciting news!
