Quick and easy recipe for the kids to help make.


Ingredients (makes 10 small or 8 large)

  • 300g Self Raising Flour
  • 50g Sugar
  • 125ml or 1/2 cup thick cream
  • 125ml or 1/2 cup lemonade
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • pinch salt

Method

  1. Put everything into a large mixing bowl.
  2. Mix until it makes a dough.
  3. Roll out on a floured table to about 2cm thickness
  4. Use a round cutter to cut out scones and put on baking tray. brush tops with milk.
  5. Bake 210C 10 -15 minutes until lightly browned.

Notes

Serve with Cream and Jam or butter or butter and Jam.

  • Scones are the best afternoon (or morning) tea when done right. They should be light and fluffy and although I love them simple with homemade jam- blackberry is amazing when I pick wild berries, with cream, I do love the flavoured varieties also. Chocolate ones are great, or a white chocolate and blueberry served warm!
