These bliss balls are so easy to make and taste delicious!

This recipe has been created by Susie Burrell. Susie has applied her knowledge of nutrition to create this high antioxidant recipe. The recipe combines a collection of ingredients essential for better eye health.

Ingredients (makes 12 )

  • 175g mixed nut/seed spread
  • 10 dates
  • 1/2 cup dried blueberries
  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries
  • 1/3 cup pepitas
  • 2 Tbsp honey
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla essence
  • Coconut for rolling

Method

  1. Place all ingredients (excluding coconut) in a food processor and blend to combine.
  2. Using a tablespoon, roll into balls.
  3. Roll in coconut then place in the fridge for up to an hour to firm up.

  • Seems to be quite a lot of sugar though (honey, dates and fruit) …but they do look delicious.

  • I have just looked up Susie and am very interested in her program. This sounds like something I could need. But I’m poor so probably not going to happen.

  • Maybe could use dried cranberries instead?? I love cranberries, I think I may try it with them.

  • Very good!! Dried blueberries are not that easy to find though.

    • Health food stores have them most of the time and also dried cranberries without sugar (often fruit juice sweetened).
I like the recipe, but personally I would leave the honey out as it has already a high sugar content of the dried fruit.

  • I’m unsure about some of the ingredients, but I love a good ‘ball’ recipe.

  • Nice one !
A pity it’s hard to find unsweetened or fruitjuice sweetened cranberries in the supermarkets (they all have sugar). Have to order some from the online health food store.

  • How can you not want to eat something called bliss balls, and a recipe without chocolate was a nice treat. This shopping will see these ingredients in my trolley and my Sunday cooking session with Master 6 will have these featured, ready for snacks for school!
