These churros will be an instant delight with the family. Add a little chocolate dipping sauce to entice those tastebuds. Adjust sugar content to suit your taste. If you have no piping bag just get a ziplock bag and cut a small hole.

Ingredients (makes 12 Churros)

  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 cup Plain flour
  • 2 1/2 Tbsp Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 2 Tbsp Vegetable oil (plus oil for deep frying)
  • 1/2 cup Sugar to taste
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon

Method

  1. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine water, 2 1/2 tablespoons sugar, salt and 2 tablespoons vegetable oil. Bring to a boil and remove from heat. Stir in flour until mixture forms a ball.
  2. Heat oil for frying in deep-fryer or deep skillet to 190 degrees C. Pipe strips of dough into hot oil using a pastry bag. Fry until golden; drain on paper towel.
  3. Combine 1/2 cup sugar and cinnamon. Roll drained churros in cinnamon and sugar mixture.

  • This easy churros recipe looks so delicious that I would love to try making it myself. The simplex mix of water, flour, sugar and salt. It feels like the kind of treat that’s fun to make and even better to share. I cannot wait to try it and hope that mine turns out crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. Rolled in cinnamon sugar nice and warm. Yum.

  • Oh my goodness, not only do these look delicious but the recipe actually looks like something that won’t take an entire afternoon. Dangerous!! There aren’t many places nearby where I can buy churros so this would satisfy that craving. Deep frying is a very occasional thing for us, but this looks worth it
