You can still have burgers without buns!

Ingredients (serves 1 | makes 1 )

  • 3 slices Wholegrain toast
  • 1 slice Beef pattie
  • 10g Cottage cheese
  • Handful Mixed greens
  • 1 teaspoon Peri Peri Mayo
  • 1 teaspoon Sweet chili sauce

Method

  1. Grill beef pattie until well done. Toast the bread while the pattie is grilling.
  2. Assemble greens and cheese on one toast; then mayo, sweet chili and pattie on another toast.
  3. Stack up and enjoy!

  • Truthfully this is barely a recipe – what about how to make the beef pattie, for example? But it is a great reminder that there are ways to vary even basic recipes like hamburgers. Wholemeal bread would definitely be that little bit healthier than a white bun, and you can use any sauce you want.

  • I do these but use my own hamburgers. Those frozen patties i would not even feed to my dogs. They taste awful.
