Ingredients (serves 8)

  • 1 tbls white sugar
  • 1/4 tpsn cinnamon
  • 6 Granny Smith Apples
  • Crumble Topping
  • 3 tbl almond meal
  • 4 tbl Rice flour
  • 2 tbl Desiccated coconut
  • 2 tbl sugar
  • 1 1/2 tbl Butter

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 190 degrees C. Grease a medium sized round baking or casserole dish. Peel, core and chop apples into 1 cm pieces and place directly into the baking dish. Sprinkle sugar and cinnamon over apples and toss well.
  2. Combine topping ingredients and rub together with fingers. Sprinkle topping over apples and bake, covered, in preheated oven for one hour or until apples no longer have shape, and then bake uncovered for a few more minutes to crisp the topping.

  • Ooh, I love this. I cheated on Father’s Day and served up a bought apple pie – my hubby’s fave dessert. It was yuk. It has a glob of gelatine that had not dissolved or cooked and turned us all off the dessert. Next time I think I’ll try making my own – for the first time!! About time!
