A super fast, egg and dairy free soft serve style ‘ice cream’

Ingredients (serves 4)

  • 4 large very ripe frozen bananas
  • 1 level tablespoon of cocoa

Method

  1. Place bananas and cocoa in a food processor. Process at high speed until smooth and creamy. You may need to scrape the sides a few times.
  2. Serve immediately.

Notes

In summer the banana will cream pretty fast but when it's cold you may need to add a small dash of milk or maple syrup or another liquid to give it a hand.

  • oh boy this sounds so indulgent, but so super good for me!

  • Check that the cocoa/chocolate powder doesn’t contain gluten or have a “may contain traces of gluten, wheat, barley etc” and you also have yummy icecream.

  • DEFINITE winner in my household. My kids love, love, love frozen banana. As an alternative, I also pop an ice cream stick in the bottom and dip in melted choc for a bit of a treat and then freeze!

  • That’s so quick! Will it function with other fruit too, maybe mango?

    • Mango is great this way! I also do mixed berries. They turn out just like sorbet :)
