A quick ad easy breakfast treat served hot or cold with yoghurt or cream.
Ingredients (serves 6)
- 2 cups Oats
- 1/3 cup Brown sugar
- 1 tsp Baking powder
- 1 tsp Cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1/3 cup Chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup Chia seeds
- 1 cup Strawberries
- 1 cup Blueberries
- 1 Banana
- 2 cups Milk
- 1 Egg
- 2 tbsp Melted Butter
- 1 tsp Vanilla essence
Method
- Preheat oven to 200 degrees.
- In a bowl mix all dry ingredients (oats, brown sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, salt, chia seeds and chocolate chips) with half of the strawberries (sliced) and half the blueberries. make sure the berries are coated. Pour into a casserole dish. Add remaining berries and sliced banana on top.
- In the same bowl whisk the wet ingredients. Make sure the melted butter has cooled down. Pour over the oat mixture, make sure all the oats are soaked.
- Bake for 40 minutes then serve hot or cold.
Notes
I prefer this cold with yoghurt, however my husband loves to heat this in the morning and then add yoghurt.
