A friend of mine gave this recipe to me . It's a yummy slow cooked soup with tons of flavor.

Ingredients (serves 6)

  • 1/2 bunch leeks
  • 1kg diced steak ( chuck or round)
  • 2 litres boiling water
  • 6-8 teaspoons beef stock (to taste)
  • 2-3 carrots ( diced)
  • 4-5 potatoes ( diced)
  • 2-3 sticks celery (chopped)
  • 1/4-1/2 tin Gravox Pepper sauce
  • 300 mls cream
  • 1/2 bunch Parsley ( chopped)
  • 1 teaspoon cracked black pepper
  • 1-2 tablespoons tomato paste

Method

  1. Soften Leeks in a little butter
  2. Add diced steak to brown
  3. Pour in stock, Add tomato paste and black pepper to taste
  4. add vegetables
  5. Simmer 1 1/2-- 2 hours stirring occasionally
  6. Add the pepper sauce mix, Stir well
  7. Just before stirring add cream and parsley

Notes

I made this in a pot on the stove top but it would adapt to the slow cooker well . iI would say 5-6 hours on low. Enjoy !
