Consider this your sign that Christmas Eve food can be beautiful, fresh and take you literally 10 minutes.

I dashed into IGA, grabbed everything I needed and whipped up this prawn salad wreath… because why not make something easy look like you spent hours on it?

No seafood counter chaos.
No circling a carpark for half your life.
No wilted produce!
Just in, out and home. It’s pure salad queen vibes.

We’re proudly working with IGA to bring you this recipe.

Ingredients

  • 1 iceberg or baby cos lettuce
  • 1 ripe avocado
  • 1 cucumber
  • 1 punnet cherry tomatoes
  • 500g IGA pre-cooked prawns
  • dressing or dipping sauce from the prawn pack, or lemon and olive oil if you want to fancy it up

Method

  1. Shape your greens into a wreath, layer the prawns, drizzle dressing, add avo + cucumber and BOOM it's Christmas magic with zero stress.

Plus swing by the IGA liquor store too and grab some bubbles to compliment the salad. $30 bucks all up is an absolute win in my opinion for this time of year. This is your Christmas Eve solved!
  • So simple but such a cute way to present a salad for the holiday season! Would be lovely with a thousand island dressing I think and a drizzle of lime juice! I am keen to give this presentation a go! Would work nicely too with a bruschetta salad and you could even make a pastry bow to be “extra”

  • I really am so eager to make this recipe for Christmas day. I plan to buy a variety of different coloured lettuce for the wreath to add lots of colour; will also do the same with the tomatoes and buy different coloured tomatoes for the wreath. This dish will be a vibrant addition to the Christmas table.

  • This Christmas Prawn Salad wreath is super impressive! The colours of all the ingredients really stand out. All looks so lovely on the plate! I love how IGA have everything you need for Christmas preparations. Personally I don’t eat prawns but I would be happy making this meal for my guests at Christmas.
