Very quick and so simple. Keeps really well


Ingredients (makes 5 Jars)

  • 4lbs Apricots
  • 1 cup Water
  • 6lbs Sugar
  • 1 tbsp tartaric acid

Method

  1. Cook apricots in the water until they are mashy, Add the sugar and boil for 7 minutes
  2. Add tartaric acid and boil for 5 minutes.
  3. Let cool a little and then bottle and seal

    Just before he bottled it he added some brandy.
    Was a great addition.

  • I am dying to make apricot jam as I remember the beautiful jams my mum used to make. We have an apricot tree (the third one as they kept dying) but this year only had about 6 apricots. Maybe next year I’ll have lots of apricots and I will finally make jam. Thanks for this recipe it sounds perfect!
