Hello!

This is a game-changer! Finding those elusive Aldi Special Buys is a challenge – they may sell out in minutes in one store and hang around for weeks in others. But now there’s a new secret feature that will reveal where you can find those weekly specials.

A few weeks ago, Aldi posted a video on their youtube channel about their Special Buys chat bot. This is basically an intelligent ‘bot’ that can give you the lowdown on where you can find stock of every Special Buy deal.

It’s super easy to use and we can’t believe the supermarket isn’t shouting about this technology from the rooftops – it’s seriously awesome.

How To Find Those Aldi Special Buys

1) All you need to do is get onto the Aldi Australia Facebook page, click on the Send Message button and type the words “Get Started” in the chat box.

2) You’ll then get an automated welcome message and you’ll need to select the Stock Availability button. You’ll then get the following message: “Which date would you like to see Special Buys for?”

3) You’ll then need to select the date of the special buy you are after. Next, you need to choose the category of the special buy – example, ‘TV & entertainment’ ; ‘household items’ ; ‘gardening’. You can then scroll through each of the Special Buys in that category and pick which one you want by clicking on ‘Stock Availability’ for that specific item.

4) The bot will then reply back: ‘Please let me know your postcode and I’ll find out if there are any in stock at the nearest store.’

5) You just need to pop in your postcode and hey presto, your new Aldi best mate will give you the name of your closest Aldi store (within 20km radius) which still has stock of the item you most desire.

Designed To Save You Time And Frustration

On the budget supermarket’s website, it has hidden “Check Stock Availability” section saying:

“It’s easier than ever to find your dream Special Buy. We want to save you time. That’s why we’ve created a chatbot that checks Special Buys stock availability.”

It’s Not Perfect

The only hitch is that these stock levels do not reflect real-time stock levels and are based on data from close of business the previous night.

So you would obviously need to visit the store for the most up-to-date availability. But at least you know that there’s a good chance that you will find your item there.

We’ve tested this out with a few items and we were super impressed how effective this is. This really is going to make the hunt for Aldi Special Buys so much easier.

  • We have an aldi within driving distance but it is a bit of a hike. The special would have to be very enticing for me to bother

  • Nifty hack to know the next time I’m interested in one of the special buys.

  • This would be good at times when you particularly want their specials. I find they don’t have everything so have to go elsewhere as well.

  • ALDI will do anything to make a profit which goes back to Germany and nothing stays here in Australia. People keep cutting off their noses by not realising that their super funds are invested in Coles, Woolworths, IGA [they are listed on the stock exchange] but they will buy from ALDI cause it’s cheap. So they are cutting off their nose to spite their face. Buy from those stores which help Australia and Australian super funds which all of us are a part of because by Australian law we must be. Open up your eyes people.

  • Brilliant! I have 2 aldi’s near me and it’s usually just luck that I picked correctly! I’d love if every store had something like this and they even told you the exact location of the product, like aisle 4 opposite the nappies etc

  • I love this app as I have struggled many times to secure that special buy!

  • I don’t shop at Aldi but have previously tried to get some of their specials without success. I may use this if something comes up I want.

  • Great for the Aldi-lovers :)

  • I live too far away from any Aldi stores for this to be handy

  • If its not real time I dont really see the point. How often is it updated?

  • Anything that saves people time will always be a winner.

  • It’s a great idea but of no use to me. I don’t shop at Aldi and doubt I ever will because I live 300kms from the nearest store.

  • Great idea so that buyers don’t miss out.

  • This is pretty cool and would come in very useful come those special buys.

  • I didn’t know this! It would come in handy for me.

  • I could imagine this would be very popular, people go silly for the special buys

  • The majority of special buys are available cheaper elsewhere these days. I think Aldi offered some really good deals in the beginning and brainwashed us to believe that their special buys would always be good. Then they started charging more. A good percentage of their floor space is now devoted to them – because that’s where their profits are. Occasionally I spot something cheap – but that’s getting rarer.

  • WOW! Now everyone will have the inside knowledge and we’ll still have the same problems. I’ve given up.
