We’re all about easy cleaning hacks at Mouths of Mums, especially when it comes to getting the bathroom spick and span. So when we spotted this cheap and easy way to rid toilets of urine odours, we had to share it!
This toilet cleaning hack has been doing the rounds for quite a while, and with good reason – nobody wants to gatekeep awesome cleaning ideas! And all you need to keep your bathroom smelling fresh and clean is shaving foam.
If you have little boys (like I do) they tend to leave big smells in the bathroom. Their aim isn’t the best, and of course they’re pretty happy to just walk away having marked their territory. And sometimes the smell still lingers even after a good scrub. But this nifty trick lifts all of the urine smell – it’s brilliant.
How to clean a toilet using shaving foam
All you need to do is spray shaving foam around the base of the toilet (which is where the smells and stains like to hide!). Let it sit for 30 minutes and then either mop or wipe it away, or you can even use a squeegee. It’s that easy.
The foam gets into all of those hidden corners, and the smell is nice and fresh. You can use any shaving foam you like – even the cheap stuff works perfectly.
