I breastfed all 4 of my children, the longest one was my last child which I fed for 2 years 9 months and I loved every second of it

I think breastfeeding is important enough that everyone should try it – but if it doesn’t work for you, your baby will thrive and be well anyway.

My first son I had no problems with BF & it was a breeze. My second was premature & BF was far from easy. He had difficulty attaching & I had to use nipple shields which made it awkward & frustrating for me & him but I persevered & it all worked out in the end.

My friend is at the ABA conference these next couple of days and she is a consultant. Whilst I was able to breast feed and stopped pumping with a manual pump when my son was a few months old and totally bottle fed, I think the support my friend gives others and what she is doing is great. There is a real move to support and not the previous old school guilt tripping that caused an us and them attitude. I think each child is different and had I have had another child my breast feeding story may have been different again. Thanks for sharing your lovely little story.
