The best things in life are free rang true for me recently when I attended an Evolve College student massage day.
A few weeks earlier I had had a VERY disappointing professional massage from a sport’s centre and paid a lot of money for that (I was basically hooked up to a tens machine for 30 minutes, developed a crick in my neck and came away cold and stiff all over after the ‘short’ hour). I knew things could not get worse.
Evolve College teaches massage. The students have a clinic as part of their training and from time to time the doors are opened up to the public. The massage takes place in a communal room with some 15 or 20 massage tables, overseen by a supervisor. Your personal privacy is respected at all times with a careful ‘toweling’ procedure.
The students have given some of the best massages I’ve ever had. From what I’ve read about massage they are all doing everything right, gently easing into muscles, finding tight spots, working them out. I could feel the muscles and relief as the massage progressed (so much better than a useless machine used by the ‘professionals’). I came away truly relaxed and tension reduced.
Evolve College has campuses in most of the major cities in Australia (you can check out their website for your closest). If you are interested in receiving a free massage you simply turn up on the advertized day and are slotted into a free place (sometimes you might have to wait a little). Highly recommended and as a bonus totally free!
