TV watching times and age do correlate. Only a little when they are young and gradually increase the amount of time. Limited time during the week due to study too. Ultimately parents have the control over the TV.

My girls only have TV in the evening for 30-60minutes where we all sit and watch a show together as a family. There is no TV in the mornings or afternoons.

That sounds like a fair idea. TV is ok for short times, but they still need to be active, both in mind and body.

I have a similar fight but with the computer. I give them 1/2hr then its time to turn it off. They only watch TV in the morning usually whilst getting dressed. eating breakfast but then it comes time to turn it off as sometimes they can dawdle and it takes forever. They know however that what we say rules so their is usually no arguments. Plus when I know they are not wanting to get off either thing I find something for us all to get involved in and this is enough for them to want to leave TV.

  I’ve got 2 teenages aswell and there onthecomputer all the time and on Xbox one will go out and play and the other one is to lazy boys will be boys

I just had the same thing lol and went and got my sons gumboots out and coat and whilst he is on the trampoline I will do some gardening

Yeah I say to the kids they have to go outside lucky they don’t know time yet but u stick to an 1 hr or so

  Every child and family are different

My kids would watch certain programs but when I went out side and so did they I also played and did crafts with the kids this all cut down T.V. time but personally I never put a time limit on it we just had our routine which broke it up
