I am looking at getting a new washer, just wanting everyone’s opinions on top loaders vs front loaders. What do you have and why do you like or dislike about it?

  • do your research. for saving water- front loader
for quicker wash therefore saving power- top loader

we have a front loader and you have to be absolutely sure that you want to wash clothes because you start the wash and there is no adding that extra item to the wash lol

also front loader is pretty noisy and sounds like it is trying to get lift off during the cycle lol

i have had two front loaders and they have both needed to be repaired in the 6mths-12months stage. top loaders seem to last a lot longer in my opinion. i have had 2 front loaders in 3 years. these are the leading brands and the higher price range as well

  • I have had top loader and front loader. The front loader takes longer to go through the wash cycle and when cleaning the filter I always ended up with water on the floor. Also I had to bed down to load and unload the front loader. I went back to a top loader. The only advantage was with the front loader, I had the dryer installed above it so that saved some space.
