We received a letter in the mail from Woolies and Woolworths Everyday Rewards has changed. Points have gone and been replaced with dollars – $10.00 off groceries. What does everyone think of the change?

  • What they didn’t tell you is you have to buy certain items with the yellow ticket to accumulate the discounts . A cashier explained that to me and it is not that easy unless you are very disciplined with selected items . So far it looks the same as before to me .

  • no the ticketed items are things that i wouldn’t really buy as i would buy the 3 dollar bag of chips over the 6 dollar bag but i would rather make my own at the end of the day! lol. qantas is back in kahootz with woolies now! so you will earn qantas points again.

  • I need to see how it works for a couple of months.

  • I really don’t like the new program as of yet not enough products with incentives to earn, hope they introduce more products or is not worth it compared to the old system.

  • I think its a great idea personally. Much better than Qantas points. Everyone is feeling the pinch these days. Any sort of reward, no matter how small is a plus!

  • I think it’s brilliant! From what I’ve heard, it’s only the frequent flyer points test gave been disposed of. And honestly, how many of us would actually use the frequent flyer points? I think the $10 off groceries is more use to moved people. Here in Tas, we haven’t changed. Spend $2000 and get a $20 voucher to spend in store.

  • Being a Mum of 5, my grocery bill is always ridiculous !! I am looking forward to earning reward dollars rather than reward points. At least that way it will be more practical and useful for my situation.

  • I was looking at my letter tonight. I like the idea. Flybys takes ages to get anything, same with the frequent flyer points. I like the idea that I can earn dollars buying regular items I would usually buy, those dollars mean I save money when I shop. Unforunately I don’t do my main shop at Wollies!

  • I much preferred the frequent flyers. I also just read that you don’t get points at Big W anymore, I used to always get so many extra points at Christmas time……no more……very sad. $$ off is good but not as good as a free flight every now and then. Just recently used my frequent flyers to take the family on a trip to the gold coast.

  • CAROLINEB was asking how you earn the Woolworths dollars and I thought to copy here what I found in Woolworths’ website. It could be helpful to different people.

How can I earn Woolworths Dollars?

There are plenty of ways to earn Woolworths Dollars, which means your balance quickly adds up:

    ORANGE TICKET PRODUCTS
Look out for a huge range of orange ticket products. They tell you how much you’ll pay, and how much you’ll earn. You’ll find them in catalogues, online, via email, Woolworths supermarkets and BWS stores (excluding Tasmania).

To earn Woolworths Dollars with Woolworths online, your Rewards card must be linked to your account. If you’re unsure, login to woolworthsonline.com.au, click ‘My Account’, then ‘Woolworths Rewards’. To register your card, simply enter the 13-digit number on the back.

    OFFERS ON YOUR FAVOURITES
To help boost your Woolworths Dollars balance, you’ll also get offers on products you buy and things we think you’ll like. These won’t always be marked in-store, so make sure you check your email or login to woolworthsrewards.com.au to see your exclusive offers.

    SCAN TO WIN
Every week, you could be one of 10,000 lucky members who win $10 Woolworths Dollars, simply by scanning your Rewards card at the checkout. Good luck!

  • I preferred getting the frequent flyer points but money off shop is awesome

  • I like the idea….I already shop at woolworths quite frequently and seem to be getting nothing out of the everyday rewards so hoping this will be more worthwhile.

  • I don’t like it by the fact that you have to buy certain products to get any points or you don’t get anything at all. But at the end of the day it is not costing anything so something for free is beter than nothing!

    • I thought you got points per $ dollar spend and the orange tickets were bonus points.

  • Time will tell. I shop more at Aldi these days because of high prices in Woolworths where I used to do all my shopping. Prices keep going up on all sorts of items but our income is not going up, so I will shop where I get the best value.

  • My new card has arrived. What I hadn’t realized yet, is that we can’t earn points with Big W anymore. That’s boring!

    Reply

  • I like it and if you get $10 off your bill that’s a bonus!

    Reply

  • I like how they don’t tell you how many points you get per $$ spent, unless it is like a weekly special bonus.
I dont know how I feel about it yet. I think I prefer having the Qantas ff points.

  • I like it. $10 off groceries is great in my opinion

  • Apparently it’s supposed to give you a higher level of rewards. Not convinced yet, but we’ll see…

    • Indeed…time will tell if this system does offer better rewards.

  • I personally like the new system. I think you will be able to get more money back this way.
