Hello!

I am going to be quitting my job :(
It has become impossible for me to find child care for my children at 5:30am. We have no family where we live and cannot ask friends to look after our 3 children who are all under 3 years of age.
So I am starting a new journey and am going to be working from home. I have joined a successful business as an independent consultant and about to begin.
I am nervous and excited at the same time.
Crossing my fingers and toes for a successful future!

  • I know where your coming from. I have 3 little one my youngest one is 7 months and there is no way I can go back to my old job. Paying for child care is so expensive. And my husband is a shift work so its hard working around his house.

  • I worked from home, literally, calling customers for service surveys on their new car purchase…..it was the most rewarding job! I got to start when i wanted, had no boss looking over my shoulder all day, could take a break when i wanted, and best of all, didn’t have to travel or get dressed up everyday!!! Good luck in your new venture, you will never look back!! :)

  • Sometimes it can be hard to find the perfect working from home job. I think if you set your mind like you have everything will work out. Good luck and well done for taking the step.

  • Good Luck! With 3 littlies that is a full time job on it’s own. Hopefully you get the chance when they are resting or ask your friends if they could help out occasionally baby sitting even 1 or 2 of them would work if they have littlies around the same age it could be a play date for them too! If you can pick your hours balance it out for doing evenings when they are asleep.

  • Good luck with your new job idea. It’ll be great if you can manage kids and working from home. Beats having to get them out by 5.30am!

  • It sure does make things easier if you do not have the family support by working at home. Can I ask what you are planning on pursuing?

    • Yes I’m interested also as it’s my goal one day to work from home.

      • Hi, I have signed up to be a consultant for a company that sells Health and Wellness products. Completely botanical, no nasties – and NO FORMALDAHYDE in the baby product range (unlike Johnson & Johnson!).
If you want more information, or are interested in signing up to be a consultant, or buy some safe, pure and natural skin, hair, baby care items, please e-mail me at zoe.puckridge@hotmail.com
I would be happy to answer questions and talk about product that are not tested on animals and safe for everyone to use, even those with the most sensitive skin :)

  • You should be so very proud of yourself, because it’s a big step you’re taking. You’ve obviously thought it through, and while it may be a bit scary, you will soon wonder why you didn’t do it years ago. Working from home may seem your only option at the moment, but when you’ve established your own business, and you’re enjoying the freedom that it will give you, you’ll look forward to every day. Well done! I wish you every success.

Its so hard to find child care anywhere these days that doesnt cost the earth then if your luckly enough to find some half the time its not worth actually working as your paying most your wages out in child care fees.

  • I work from home too but I’m still unable to look after the kids as my hours aren’t flexible. Ultimately I’m tied to my desk for my 8hr shift however it has a lot of other advantages. Good luck with your new job & I hope it brings in lots of $$
