Pop star Meghan Trainor and her husband Daryl Sabara are celebrating the arrival of their third child, a baby girl!

Meghan took to social media to reveal her surprise baby daughter, who was born via surrogate. She also shared her gorgeous name, which was chosen with the help of sons Riley and Barry.

“Our baby girl Mikey Moon Trainor has finally made it to the world thanks to our incredible, superwoman surrogate.

“We are forever grateful to all the doctors, nurses, teams who made this dream possible. We had endless conversations with our doctors in this journey and this was the safest way for us to be able to continue growing our family.

“We are over the moon in love with this precious girl. Riley and Barry have been so excited, they even got to choose her middle name. We are going to enjoy our family time now, love you all.”

The singer, 32, and her actor husband, 33, married in 2018, and have two sons, Riley, four and Barry, two.

The Grammy winner has previously revealed she wants a large family.

  • As far as weird celebrity baby names goes I think this is pretty cute and more on the normal side, like take Nara Smiths baby names, there are far more unusual. I often think too that they strange or unusual celerity baby names are just a cover for the children’s real names, a way to protect their privacy and or give them a built in stage name should they also pursue the entertainment industry.

  • Normal is subjective though; isn’t it? What’s a ‘normal’ Australian name wouldn’t be used in the US. Except maybe Bluey 😂
And same for us, our names are significantly different. Plus I find celebrities often have out there names to begin with. Apple and Moses for Gwyneth Paltrow for example.

  • It is cute that they let the older siblings choose the middle name, however, couldn’t they have encouraged something a bit more normal? I mean what is with these weird celebrity names? It’s bad enough that the poor girl is saddled with a name that is usually masculine, then with Moon for the middle name?

  • Congrats to this family ! Baby Mikey Moon is gorgeous ! It’s a cute name and how lovely the proud brothers picked the middle name. The arrival of a new baby is such a precious time of bonding with all the family members. I’m glad the pregnancy via a surrogate worked our for this family

  • I really do like the name of this precious new bub, it really is rather cute and also very sweet for the other children in this family to be involved with naming their sibling. A second name always has different significance for families. We went with middle names of special significance for our family.

  • She is beautiful. Huge congratulations. I know there has been some controversy over her use of a surrogate. There is no doubt it’s a privilege to be able to do that, one that usually comes with having money – but it doesn’t make her less a mother or less of a family. There were clearly medical reasons for their choice.

  • It is always so lovely to hear of the arrival of a precious new baby to the world news. It is always very welcome and such a good way to start the year with news that brings joy. Surrogacy seems to be bigger in some countries compared to in Australia.

  • Congratulations. Very cute. I’m not sure about letting the boys choose that middle name lol as Mikey may have something to say about it in the future. Saying that i had a school friend who had this as a middle name (it was a family surname) so maybe this is the case here too.

  • Oh how wonderful, that first photo of her and the baby is so precious, she looks so overjoyed to meet her little girl. Three kids will keep her busy and on her toes. I am not sure about the name, that is an interesting choice for a girls name but I am sure it has special meaning for the family.
