9 Surprising Things To Make In A Steam Air Fryer
Now that we know a little more about this brilliant new appliance, here are some things you won’t believe you can make in it!
Two Ingredient Easy Bagels
A delicious breakfast or brunch is just two ingredients and 15 minutes away!
Makes 6-8
Preparation: 5 minutes
Ready in: 20 minutes
Ingredients
- 3 cups self-raising flour, plus extra for dusting
- 2 cups Greek yoghurt
Method
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and yoghurt and mix well using your hands or a wooden spoon, to form a thick, sticky dough.
- Turn the dough out onto a well-floured work surface and gently sprinkle with extra flour. Press out gently to form a large rectangle. Use a 8m round biscuit cutter to measure – you should be able to cut 6 bagels out from the rectangle, if not, press the dough until it is large enough to cut 6 rounds.
- Dust the cutter well with flour, and then cut out six rounds. Use your finger to press a hole into the centre of the rounds to form a doughnut-like shape.
- Place the 6 bagels into the Sunbeam SteamFry Air Fryer. Select the STEAM FRY function and set the temperature for 160°C. Set the timer for 15 minutes.
- While the bagels are cooking, re-roll the scraps to make two more bagels. When cook time has elapsed, remove the first batch of bagels from the air fryer and repeat the cooking method with the final two bagels.
Note: Add some extra toppings if you like, 1 tsp black or white sesame seeds, a few grinds of black pepper, a generous pinch of sea salt flakes, ½ tsp onion or garlic flakes. Add the toppings to the bagels just before steam frying in the air fryer.
Strawberry Sponge Puddings
Adorable, individual desserts that are perfect for a dinner party.
Makes 4
Preparation: 5 minutes

Ingredients
- 250g strawberries, hulled and quartered
- 1/3 cup orange juice
- 100g butter, softened
- ½ cup caster sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2/3 cup self-raising flour
Method
- Divide the strawberries between 4 x ¾ cup ramekins. Pour 1 tablespoon (20ml) orange juice over each ramekin and set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream the butter with the sugar until light and fluffy. Whisk in the eggs one at a time, then fold in the flour. Divide the cake batter equally between the ramekins, over the strawberries.
- Place the ramekins into the Sunbeam SteamFry Air Fryer and select the STEAM FRY function, 160°C and set timer for 25 minutes. Remove from the air fryer and allow to cool slightly before serving.

Dog Biscuits
Your furry bestie will LOVE these homemade treats. They’re so simple to make and you can switch up the ingredients as the seasons change. For the basic recipe, use two large eggs, 2 and ¾ cups of whole wheat flour, a cup of mashed pumpkin and one third of a cup of peanut butter. You can change the vegetable puree out to other veggies that your dog like as well.
All you need to do is combine the wet ingredients, then stir in the flour. Form a dough, press or roll it out (use baking paper – it can be sticky) and cut out whatever shapes your dog would like! Pop the biscuits into the Sunbeam SteamFry Air Fryer, and set the temperature to 190ºC. Now here’s the best part – you can make them either chewy or crunchy. Select the STEAM FRY function and cook them for five minutes for soft treats, or increase the time to eight minutes on AIR FRY for crunchy cookies!
