We asked YOU on Facebook what your favourite playgrounds in Perth are, and thanks to some brilliant local knowledge here is a list of Perth playgrounds you HAVE to visit!

1. Annie’s Landing Playground

This park is great for  kids of any age. It has hidden passage ways, tunnels, rope bridges, swings and flying foxes to keep the kids occupied for days. There are gazebos next to the play areas which makes this park perfect for parties and get togethers. There is also sand pits and swings for the younger ones. This park is a MUST see that won’t disappoint. Get there early on a nice day to make the most of it all!

2. Heathcote Park

This park is great both adults and kids with something for everyone! Do you like freshly brewed coffee? because this park comes with a fantastic takeaway coffee kiosk that you can sip on whilst enjoying the spectacular 180 degree views of the Swan River. This park is pirate themed and is best for kids over the age of three. Make sure you pack a picnic and get their early to take advantage of what this park has to offer.

3. Yokine Playspace

Yokine playspace is a unique playground that your children MUST visit. This play space was designed as an all inclusive park that caters for children of all ages and abilities with a strong emphasis on exploring different sensory opportunities. This play space has an Australian wilderness look utilising tree stumps, branches and trees as the main focus for play. There are also traditional forms of play equipment such as swings and slides for your kids to enjoy. Make sure you visit this park to experience something new!

4. Glasson Park

Glasson park is a GREAT small park in the heart of Fremantle. This park is opposite an award winning coffee shop that you can grab a quick coffee and relax after work whilst the kids run wild and let off some steam. The play equipment is different to traditional playgrounds which makes this park very exciting. Your kids will be begging you to take them back and go for a ride on the big tyre swing! This park is perfect because you can bring the dog, grab a coffee and enjoy the afternoon.

5. Hobart Street Playground

Make sure you pack a picnic and a blanket to utilise the open grassy areas this park has to offer. The kids will be entertained for hours playing on the equipment and mum and dad can relax because this park is fully fenced and gated with large shade sails over the play equipment.  There is a great little coffee shop across the road that offers breakfast, lunch and takeaway coffee.

6. Neil McDougall Park

Remember to bring the kids scooters and bikes to enjoy a walk or ride around the picturesque lake that surrounds this park. There are plenty of BBQs and tables to sit at some snags and enjoy a late afternoon under the trees with family and friends. This playground is great for kids of all ages will be sure to entertain your kids for hours with their unusual play features and sensory play. Be sure to visit this park for a great fun filled family day out!

7. Dr Seuss Park

If you and your kids LOVE Dr Seuss this park will be sure to impress. This park is complete with winding paths, rolling bumps, climbing nets, slides, birds nest swings, sand pits and other play equipment using the red and blue Dr Seuss theme. This park would be great for a Dr Seuss themed children’s party with plenty of opportunities for great pictures or it for BBQs and family gatherings. This park is not to be missed because it will be fun for the whole family!

8. Ivey Watson Playground, Kings Park

If your looking for a great place to have a fun filled day out, that the whole family can enjoy. Then this is your park! This park has everything from great play equipment, large grassy areas where the kids can kick the ball around a large bike track, picnic tables, gazebos, BBQS, tennis courts and cricket pitches. There are activities for everyone and a great coffee shop that has a large lunch menu and plenty of sweet treats. Take advantage of this park on a beautiful sunny day and enjoy what it has to offer!

9. Subiaco Theatre Gardens Play Space

This park has a beautiful central creek that kids can build dams on and explore. This park has plenty of shade from the surrounding trees and is the perfect spot for a picnic and play. Main features of this park include tight ropes, water and sand play trays, boulder climb, balancing beams, stilts, a puppet theatre and shop front cubbies. So bring your kids down so they can explore this nature oriented playground!

10. Quarry Adventure Park

This park features heaps of equipment suitable for kids of all ages. There are large open grassy areas and amphitheatres that are great for running around in or kicking a ball around. There plenty of BBQs that are ideal for picnics. So bring your family and friends, pack the sunscreen and make the most of this great park on a warm sunny day.

11. Fantasy Park

Do your kids have a wild imagination? They will LOVE this park because it has giant creatures scattered throughout from dragons, to turtles and snails. Watch your kids explore this playground with excitment and climb through the many hidden tunnels this park has to offer. Your kids are sure to enjoy this park and remember to bring your camera because you are sure to get some great pics!

12. Hyde Park

Hyde park playground is perfect for kids of all ages. It is castle themed and contains everything from curly wurly slides, chain bridges, sand pits, climbing nets and swings. Most importantly Hyde park has just opened a water playground! So remember to pack swimmers and a towel because your kids will not be able to resist!

13. Wanneroo Rotary Park

This park will get the whole family outdoors! With picturesque views of Lake Joondalup this park has all of the traditional play equipment you can imagine from climbing structures, swings, and wood play equipment. This park also has BBQs, Picnic tables and shady tree ares that is sure to get the whole family outdoors! Bring the kids to this park and they will never want to leave.

  • Volcano Park in Belmont is also great! They have a giant smoking volcano as well as flying foxes and equipment for younger kids.

  • Two more awesome new parks to add! One is at the corner of North Beach Rd and Kitchener St in North Beach and has fantastic play equipment, BBQs and incredible flying foxes. The other is off McCabe St in Mosman Park, up near the tennis courts. This is a nature type of playground with rope swings, wooden bridges and mnay other delightful items, and it is located right near picturesque lakes and the Swan River- just gorgeous. Enjoy!!
