Hello!

If you’ve ever wondered how our product reviews come about … it’s a good question.  Sometimes it’s through people we know and brands we’ve worked with and other times, it’s a happy meeting of new people.  One such new friend is Erika Szychowski from Naturalizer;  I was lucky enough to meet Erika at the launch event for Naturalizer’s Autumn/Winter 2012 range late last year and there was an instant click.

As we tried on shoes (and I attempted to look as sizzlingly attractive as the young models showcasing the range with no success!!) we chatted about the perfect fit between Mouths of Mums and Naturalizer.  We have busy mums who need comfort but still want style and Naturalizer has exactly that!

Erika is an incredible ambassador for Naturalizer – she steps out in them everyday and shared the story of the company’s background and unique spot in the market with complete enthusiasm.

“Naturalizer was first introduced in 1927 with the revolutionary idea of designing stylish and comfortable shoes for women. The brand was actually the first company in the United States to design a pair of shoes made using the shape of a woman’s foot instead of a man’s and since then we’ve never looked back. We wanted to meet a critical need in the fashion industry – women’s shoes that were stylish as well as wearable.

The brand soon became known as “the shoe with the beautiful fit.”

At Naturalizer, we understand the importance of bringing women comfortable on-trend shoes.  We have developed an exclusive N5 Comfort System, which contains five essential features that are proven to provide comfort all day long: extra cushioning, breathable linings, balance with every step, flexible soles and light weight material. The N5 Comfort system is represented in all our shoes – flats, wedges, heel and boots” Erika said.  (It’s here where Erika proudly takes off the Naturalizer shoe she is wearing and  starts to give me a demonstration).

“At Naturalizer headquarters, we are particularly excited about our latest collection that translates winter fashion trends from around the world into our current range of chic and comfortable ladies’ shoes”.

The launch was held in a funky little spot in Sydney’s inner city over lunch – lots of gorgeous people from fashion land attended so it was lots of fun.  The theme for the fashion show was simple style and classic shapes with a warm rustic feel highlighted with touches of deep blue, brown and dark red.

Erika then went on to share that “the latest collection from Naturalizer aims to inspire women around the world to live their lives and love their shoes!

In addition to our N5 comfort system, we have recently launched N5 Contour – The Shape of Comfort.  Our superior comfort technology is designed to contour to the natural shape of a woman’s foot.  N5 Contour improves cushioning, it redistributes weight and pressure and it enhances balance and gait, resulting in shoes that feel comfortable all day long.

“We look forward to a great season of style and comfort with our Aussie friends.”

For the mums who’ve been selected as part of the Naturalizer Product Review Team, it won’t be long before you’ll be receiving your shoes. They are winging their way to our office this week and we’ll be sending out early next week. We can’t wait to start reading your reviews.

In the meantime, Naturalizer have just updated their website with some beautiful new images of the Autumn/Winter 2012 range – there’s even a video taken from the advertising shoot for the range.  I love it … and in my next life will look exactly like that! Have a quick look at the new range here.

Much MoM Love,

Nikki

  • With a foot the size of a small nation (9 1/2 – 10) and anywhere from a C – D in width, I’ve just about given up hope of finding attractive shoes that will fit and are comfortable. I’ll have to find out where they’re available retail in Adelaide, because I’ve learnt never to buy shoes over the internet. If Naturalizer live up to their advertising, they’ll be worth their weight in gold.
