The New Snow Sale That Will Replace Aldi's Cancelled Snow Gear Special Buys

Snow enthusiasts were devastated when Aldi abruptly cancelled its 2020 Snow Gear Special Buys. But we’ve got good news for ski and snowboard lovers. There’s another snow sale in town, that will rival Aldi’s super snow sale deals.

With COVID-10 restrictions gradually relaxing throughout the country, there is still no indication as to when trips to the snow will be back on the cards.

However, despite the uncertainty, many of the major Australian ski resorts are still planning for at least part of a ski season. With snow lasting until September in many parts of the country, ski resorts are optimistic that they can re-open for at least a month or two in the Winter.

Cancelled Snow Sale

Aldi shocked its fans a few weeks ago with the announcement: “As we are prioritising the transport and distribution of our groceries, and due to recent travel restrictions, our 2020 Snow Gear Special Buys will not be available as planned.”

The most disappointed shoppers were those living near the snow fields, who relied on the budget retailer’s annual sale to clothe their family in warmth.

Anaconda To The Rescue

With Aldi no longer providing economical snow gear options, the outdoor specialist retailer Anaconda has skiied in to fill in the gap.

Anaconda’s snow sale will include major savings across men’s, women’s, youth and kids ranges, in a variety of assorted colours, styles and sizes.

You can expect to pick up adult snow jackets and pants for $49, while kids’ snow jackets and pants are priced at only $39. There will also be $10 thermals and a range of accessories including beanies and gloves from $10.

These hot Winter specials are available at all Anaconda stores Australia-wide or can be bought online at anacondastores.com.

Anaconda’s annual winter sale runs from Wednesday 13 May until Sunday 31 May.

So many people love the snow sales. I like the warmth so snow although pretty to look at is not for me.

I understand why Aldi cancelled this and think it was wise and considerate. It’s of course when there are alternative options. I’m not into snow sport myself, so not really interested.

I wasn’t planning on going to the snow so it didn’t really affect us but they always do have great sales. I understand why Aldi canceled it but Anaconda have great stuff too.

what great prices. we dont really need the outerwear but thermals are handy for camping in the cooler months and thats a fantastic price!

Aldi did what they thought was best in the middle of a pandemic. Anaconda are now cashing in. It’s really not an issue for those of us in the west as snow is rare here and we can’t travel anyway.

My family don’t go skiing but isn’t it great to know that people can rely on Anaconda stores to step up where, once again, Aldi is letting people down. Think we should be used to Aldi by now.

Wow the savings are massive. I’ve just checked their presale prices and the kids jackets are currently $119.
It will be good to have a greater chance of buying from this store, rather than a once off chance like Aldi where it all disappears that day.

Good business pick up from Annaconda – great way to get themselves back in the game. Our family missed out on the Aldi winter sale a few years back when we lived in Canberra and I must say Annaconda came to our rescue then too. Thank goodness there is no snow in QLD!!!! we now rely on Annaconda for life jackets instead!

I cannot imagine anyone being devastated by the cancellation of a sale! Seems peculiar to me and out of context. Also, I cannot imagine travel occurring anytime soon to the snow.

I’m not a snow sport lover. Growing up in the Netherlands with cold winters I didn’t cope very well at winter time. My husband is the same, we like to avoid the cold and love love love the summer. Winter sport would never be my choice of holiday.
