The Story Behind the Abandoned Wedding Cake

Mum finds abandoned wedding cake on the side of the road and now we all want to know WHY!?

Fifty Shades of Cake shared the sad image on her Facebook page explaining, “I would love to know why a wedding cake was left on the side of the road which we found on our dog walk today? Bad cake maker? Flavour not up to scratch? Wedding was a disaster?”

Her post received hundreds of comments from other curious followers some sharing a guess as to why the cake was just left on the side of the road.

Many concluding the bride was left at the alter and the wedding cake was just abandoned in a fit of tears.

Some suggested maybe it fell from the roof of the transport vehicle or was just simply forgotten.

Upon return this morning the cake was STILL just sitting on the side of the road. On closer look the mum said it seems it was a test cake possibly but still a lot of hard work went into the cake.

It included a chocolate cake on the top with a couple of dummy layers covered in fondant with sugar flowers as well.

The update shared today, “The saga continues! Curiosity got the better of me and clearly the rest of the locals! Went back to video, touch it, find out, examine! No one was home to ask why it was there, but I can tell you it is mainly display cake with evidence of tiers of chocolate cake on the top! Intricate sugar work, fondant and lots of hours to create I would say! (Not sure why it’s roadside, could have fit into a bin)!”

Maybe it was like a movie scene where the bride lost it! Maybe something a little less dramatic, who knows.

If it fell from the roof of a vehicle it would have been totally smashed! A sample cake makes a lot of sense but agree, should have binned it not left it on the curb, unless they were hoping to drum up business

Quite odd indeed. Maybe they wanted to feed the birds after a failed cake or called off wedding.

My first thought was they accidentally left it there and just never went back to pick it up. Maybe it was a delivery person who did not want to do his last delivery? Maybe it was not paid for and they did not know what to do with it? Be great if someone finds out the reason soon.

Such a beautiful cake that looks like alot of time and effort went into making it. I’m curious as to the reason it was dumped!

And the mystery continues. Hopefully it was just a decorated cake abandoned in a moment of madness. They could have at least put it in the bin so no ants invade. Shame really
