Say hello to one of Australia’s most incredible playgrounds, set above a gum tree canopy and boasting oodles of fun for little and big kids alike!
Wildnets is the nation’s largest suspension playground, and is just about to open in Port Macquarie. It includes a huge network of interactive, interconnecting play spaces made of netting that’s secured between trees.
From ball pits to slides, interactive toys and giant inflatable balls, Wildnets has been designed for all-ages entertainment. You can go wild bouncing, running and walking over the play spaces and suspension bridges. And when you’re ready for a bit of downtime, swing in a hammock or climb into one of the treehouses for a bird’s-eye view of the mid-north coast koala habitat.
The precinct has been built around the world’s first koala breeding program by Koala Conservation Australia. The playground is located at the Guulabaa tourism precinct, where the koalas are the stars of the show.
Half of the profits from Wildnets goes towards koala conservation.
Wildnets – Australia’s Largest Suspension Playground
There are 39 kilometres of rope and cable that help suspend the unique playground, which has been constructed with minimal environmental impact. Children as young as one can play in the forest, without causing any damage to the habitat of Australian wildlife.
The name of the precinct, Guulabaa, means ‘place of koala’ in Gathang indigenous language. The precinct is home to The Big Koala, a two-and-a-half metre fibreglass sculpture.
Wildnets is located in Guulabaa, Cowarra State Forest, corner of Oxley Highway and Burrawan Drive, Lake Innes NSW, and is set to open on 19 September, 2022.
