Birth certificates in New South Wales can now be printed in a variety of skin tones.
The NSW Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages is offering four new handprint colours in its themed birth certificates after parents called for changes, shares 9 news.
According to News Corp Australia, the “white” handprint was the most popular birth certificate of the commemorative selection and was used about one-third of sales.
“It was introduced about 10 years ago and is our highest selling commemorative design,” Department Registrar Amanda Ianna told The Daily Telegraph.
“The new designs are more inclusive and reflect our multicultural society.”
