I never had this option when my kids were born, doubt I would’ve gone for it either. A birth certificate is for your birth details, nothing else

I’ve never seen an Australian birth certificate before, so I didn’t know the hand of a child appeared. Maybe a good idea to give choices to parents.

I didn’t even realise you could get these but inclusion and choice is a great thing so well done on the change.

Why concentrating on the colour does it matter what colour it is

Personally I don’t see the need for this. When skintone doesn’t make a difference and everyone is included, why then does it need to be mentioned or indicated ?

I suppose more choice is good.

Weird! The birth certificates in my state are either plain or you can get the premium version which has a teddy bear theme.
