These creative planters are a fantastic craft project for kids and adults!

Material

  • 1 Empty Soft Drink Bottle
  • A bit Potting mix
  • Multiple Paint Colours
  • 1 Plant of choice
  • 1 scissors or stanley knife

Method

  1. Cut the top of the empty soft drink bottle and put small holes in the bottom for drainage.
  2. Paint and decorate as desired. Try something different....maybe a panda bear? Instead of a straight cut, you could cut in ears or similar. Allow to dry.
  3. Fill with potting mix and plant. Project complete.

Notes

My daughter had a craft party for her 11th birthday and each child brought one of these home to keep. It kept them busy for ages.

  • I have been looking at my new plastic watering can thinking how boring it looks. I now know how to make it look interesting when I have no further use for it.
It is more fun to make these things from the beginning to end that buy a boring plain one which depending on what is made from can be difficult to transform as we would like to.
