Hello!

This storage box is very handy for small items like scissors, watches, tweezers, and even pens. It doesn’t take a lot of time and is a great holiday activity for kids to add colour to their room and keep things readily available.

Material

  • 1 cardboard box
  • 3 cardboard toilet rolls
  • Paper cuttings, different designs and colours
  • 1 glue

Method

  1. I picked up a rectangular box - I used cereal box, cut to the height of a cardboard toilet roll.
  2. Decorate it with all kinds of designs you like...newspaper cuttings, magazine cuttings etc. I used hearts and lines. Stick these with glue. You can even use beads and stickers.
  3. The box can be used just like this, but I like to place the toilet rolls inside the boxes, so as to give the base some strength and helps me segregate my stuff neatly

Notes

Kids can even gift these to their friends when they come over :)

  • another type of box for me to do.. becoming fanatic, loving t too. Been doddle decorating white tissue boxes, for ages now…designs change and evolve some how. When empty could not throw them away was going to use them as decoupage display.. Now I have cut of tops and use them instead for different pens, pencils, watercolours too, look great and still useful to..Friends like them too.. all on stand near my table in lounge, ready to use when get the muse. • Well done! I’ve done something similar and used old shoe boxes covered in material from my rag bag to store my kids’ socks and undies. (My favourite uses the material from an old pyjama shirt my son had grown out of). I also use old tissue boxes, fold in the top and let the kids paint them, but they tend to be weaker. Love your idea of strengthening with empty toilet rolls.
