Cancer Sun Child

Astrology Signs (2)
Cancer Sun Sign dates (June 22nd – July 23rd)

As a curious parent, it’s important to know that the dates and times of each Sun Sign can vary slightly from year to year. If your child is born on, or close to these dates, a Birth Chart can accurately decipher their true Sun Sign. The time and location are also valuable details. For example: The Sun moves into Cancer close to on 1am on 22nd June, 2023, Sydney, Australia time. Birth Charts are coloured with vibrational influences and angles that add flavour to your Child’s Sun Sign expression.

It’s also interesting to note that each Sun Sign has its own Symbol, Element and Ruling Planet.

They synergise and flow through your child’s character.

Cancer is the fourth sign of the zodiac, so let’s begin by delving into the energies and personality traits of your Cancer Sun Child, followed by helpful tips to guide, support and spark their joy.

Cancer Sun Child Symbol: The Crab

In astrology, the symbols are representative of the energy and characteristics of each of the twelve signs, which mostly derive from Ancient Greece, Rome, and as far back as Babylonian times. The Cancer Sun Child’s symbol is The Crab. The Crab procures, grabs and latches onto things you may later find in their favourite place.

The Crab is known for; Sensitivity to its surroundings, Holding super tight to all they love, Self protection and attachment, Sideways glances and movements, Retreating to home.

Does your Cancer Sun Child’s nature align with the qualities of The Crab?

Cancer Sun Child Element: Water

Interestingly, Fire, Earth, Air and Water are known as the four elements in astrology. Each element belongs to three of the twelve zodiac signs.

The four elements relate to different aspects of the self and Water relates to emotion. Its nature is of inward feeling, instinct, emotional memory, intuition, and is the element for Cancer.

Cancer shares the element of Water with Scorpio and Pisces. The three signs possess individual qualities based around the element of Water, and when grouped together have a common thread of compatibility within the zodiac.

Our sensitive little water babies are usually the mainstays at the water park or under the sprinkler at home. They’re the cherubs playing house and taking care of each other as Doctors, Vets, Pets, Chefs, and the cuties bringing Pirates and Mermaids to life! Expect occasional tears as their emotions are ripe.

Do you see the qualities of the Water element flowing through your Cancer Sun Child?

Cancer Sun Child Ruling Planet: Moon

Over time, each sign has been allocated a Ruling Planet/Ruler. From an astrological perspective, the zodiac signs and planets in the Solar System were matched up, largely based on their thematic relationship to one another. It's interesting to note that as you foster your Cancer Sun Child’s radiance, the Moon comes into play!

The Moon has its place in nature for its enrichment, nourishment and nurturing qualities, and your Cancer Sun Child will love to nurture and experience nourishment through nurturance! Tidal, Belonging, Mother, Healer are all Moon words that can add an extra layer of insight to the true essence of your Cancer Sun Child.

As you look to The Moon, and consider how its clean, bleached light washes over your Cancer Sun Child’s personality, do you notice their broad scope of emotion and attunement to instinctual and habitual patterns? Is their expression like the ever changing lunar phases, and the ebb and flow of the tides? If so, they’re living true to their Sun Signs main objective, by soaking up the vibrations of their Ruler, The Moon.

  • Channel their water with the foamiest bubble baths around, big helper vibes with sudsy dishes, or splashing around the garden with a cute watering can.
  • Bask in their brightest light as they perform their own sentimental song after their favourite family meal. Kleenex essential!
  • Be the instigator of luminous laughter playing animal dress ups with noises and actions included. Cancer Sun Children have the best giggles!
  • Ignite their radiance with backyard camping (cozy pillow nests a must), and a full moon treasure hunt. Spark their joy by making it tradition.
  • Fill their happiness cup with a trip to the seaside, for splashy fun, sandcastles, seashells and snorkels.
  • Enlighten and nurture their imagination with homemade forts and rafts adrift. By the light of the silvery moon of course, or at the very least with a torch in hand.
  • See them shine when they’re big enough to serve and feed you the best mud pies in town.
  • Once they move on from milk (might be a while with your Cancer Sun Child) , they may be interested in fashioning a homemade lemonade stall. Lemons are ruled by the moon!
Did you know that in Astrology, from the day you are born, your life force, energy and expression is largely determined by the Sun’s position in the Zodiac? The Sun represents life and illuminates the world around us. It is the largest star in the Solar System, and its energy vibrates and adorns you with the flavours and characteristics of the Sign you were born under.
Your Sun Sign, also known as your Star Sign, represents your core personality, and how you shine through life. It’s where you are at your most luminous. From an earthbound perspective, the Sun takes one year to complete a circuit of the Zodiac, and spends approximately four weeks in each of the twelve signs.
