Shoes should be sturdy, only flexing at the toe and not twisting.
They should be adjustable to fit – so lace ups are the best choice.
And, of course, they have to be a good price. (If they cost an arm and a leg, you’d only want one anyway)

Having feet measured is most important. I also like to choose a well known brand and then it’s ‘how long will these shoes last?’ I’d rather pay more for a durable shoe that will keep our little treasures in comfy shoes for a while!
